Hydro Cell has a straw while Owala’s FreeSip offers both a straw and wider mouth. I bought this water bottle for hiking and traveling and it works great. Hydro Cell comes with an extra cap which can also save you several dollars if you want to buy a separate one. Hydro Cell water bottle is a lot cheaper than Owala bottle. My owala 32 is my emotional support water bottle despite all the cut hydro bottles I have. The Flip comes in the same sizes and colors as the FreeSip. I say that as someone with 2 owala and at least 5 hydro flasks. The FreeSip is beautiful-I have it in the purple Retro Boardwalk color-but it’s also functional. Owala is better in every aspect except for the mismatch bootle and lid colors they keep doing and the lack of boots. Only one very minor negative: if you wash the lid by hand be careful of the dish soap you use (ideally use unscented) because the silicone part of the lid will absorb the scent and it sticks around for a long time.
